1 Corinthians 3:9-15

"For we are God's laborers together with God. Ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, i have laid the foundation and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble,; Every man's work shall be made manifest, for THE DAY shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire, and the fire shall try every mans work of what sort it is. If any mans work abide which he hath built thereon, he shall receive a reward. If any mans work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire." KJV

"Or, to put it another way, you are God's house. Using the gift God gave me as a good architect, I designed blueprints; Apollos is putting up the walls. Let each carpenter who comes on the job take care to build on the foundation! Remember, there is only one foundation, the one already laid: Jesus Christ. Take particular care in picking out your building materials. Eventually there is going to be an inspection. If you use cheap or inferior materials, you'll be found out. The inspection will be thorough and rigorous. You won't get by with a thing. If your work passes inspection, fine; if it doesn't, your part of the building will be torn out and started over. But you won't be torn out; you'll survive—but just barely.
You realize, don't you, that you are the temple of God, and God himself is present in you? No one will get by with vandalizing God's temple, you can be sure of that. God's temple is sacred—and you, remember, are the temple. " (The Message}

i believe we are in the last days. Is that a measurable amount of time by my standards? No. Does anyone know how much earthly time is left? No. But we can tell by the state of the world, that signs are present to substantiate the end times we live in. In the time i have left here on this earth, in this life God has blessed me with, i choose to serve Him. Do i fall? Yes. Will i get up every time and get back in step with His plan for Me? Yes. Do i know what that is? i do when i stay close to Him in prayer, reading His Word in the Bible, and doing what He commands of me.


i learned two things more deeply this week. That when we go before the Lord at the end and sit in the judgement seat (so to speak), it is not sin that He is judging us for. That debt was paid for by the blood of the Lamb, our Lord Jesus Christ. He will judge us by our earthly life, by how we followed the Word He left us, how we put into practice the leading of the Holy Spirit.


You see, this passage is widely recognized as being about the day of judgement. The precious stones are a life built on the foundation of Jesus and can withstand the judgement. But the wood, hay and stubble will not withstand the judgement,they will be burned up. Once you are saved, your life is built on Jesus and many loose their way. i urge us all, myself included, to be actively living a life pleasing to God and seeking out ways to reach His lost and dying children.
