FREEDOM

What is Freedom to you? It is said that we live in the "free est" country in the world, but what are we free from? Most people in the United States live in bondage to sin. Choosing self over God, putting money, family, work, alcohol, drugs, speech, anything they can above God. Sin can be attributed to all the problems we face today. Are we really free? Most people do not even know they are sinning because in this country we have reduced the standard of righteousness so much that we justify or legalize our sin. What is righteousness? It is, simply put, the truthfulness of God. Faith in God means the moral conviction of the truthfulness of God. How many truly believe in God, how many have that moral conviction. How many truly believe in His Son, Jesus Christ, and that He is coming back soon? The truth is in the Living Word of God as written in the Bible. The truth is Jesus, and without Jesus those living in sin will go to HELL ..a real place and final eternal destination for many. He gives us plenty of warning. Speaking of His return:

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my father only."
"But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matthew 24:36-39

Sound like today? Well it is today. Jesus word is life and He came to give us life abundant. Are we living it?

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." John 8:32
" If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." John 8:36

i am truly moved with compassion for those who are unsaved, think they are saved, but are not, those in the bondage of sin, whatever that is including indifference to Jesus. i am broken, undone. We can trace sin and death(physical and spiritual) back to the Garden, it is where man fell, where we came under the judgment of God and were condemned to death. But there is Good News (the Gospel) in Jesus because He came to save the lost and dying. Jesus is our way out, the only way to the Father, the only way to eternal life. There is only ONE way. Please take it. When you get into The Word, The Word will get into you. The Old Testament is full of references or foreshadowing of Jesus coming. The New Testament is rich in the truth we need unto salvation. It is all relevant today, yesterday and tomorrow. We have wasted so much time. Today when you light up your grills or eat your hot dogs, remember Jesus and be thankful..tell others about Him..Freedom comes with a price and Jesus paid it for all of us.

Time on this earth is fleeting and short, Draw near to Him while we can.

"Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of our faith (the moral conviction of the truthfulness of God) , having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water." Hebrews 10:22
