BOURBON STREET
We were back on Jackson Square and Bourbon Street last night. It was busier last night and we prayed with many folks. Sabrina and i prayed with Joshua, a young man who was drinking on the street for the first time. He was just off work. He works two jobs to keep busy and out of trouble. He is very aware of the mortality rate of young black men in New Orleans. He gave me his beer to throw out and we prayed for a fresh annointing on his life. For God to use him in a mighty way to reach others for Jesus.
There was Phillip who is a father, a doctor and a few other things. He identified himself with the things he has been. He has daughters and he says they come to him when in need. i told him that it was like when we go to our heavenly Father when we are in need. Sabrina and i prayed for him and he became weepy. We prayed that he would have a fresh anointing of the Holy Ghost on his life and he became weepy. He was holding my hand very tightly and i thought about how God holds us in His arms.
These lost souls are so entrenched in their lost lives, in the grip of the enemy. We prayed for the bondages of the enemy to be broken and the Lord be free to work in their hearts, that the Holy Ghost convict them to true repentance and salvation, that the scales fall off their eyes and they see clearly the glory of God. Amen.
There was Sylvester. We dropped to our knees and prayed with this brother. He said he was ready to recommit his life to the Lord. We prayed with him and he left us, not saying very much. i was wondering how the seed would grow.
The bondage of sin is so obvious to us, from the outside looking in, drinking, drugs, voodoo, sex, lust, immorality, whatever, it is all so obvious. But to one held captive, who walks in the dark, it is a lifestyle so dearly clung to. It is who they are in their sin. It is hard to breakthrough sometimes and bring them to a place of walking in hope. The darkness can be hard to penetrate.
i am still having time issues and have not been able to get the pictures going. i will really try to get them on tonight. We are going to Hebron Church tonight and Pastor Troy is preaching... Love you all
