THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD

i am very blessed by God to be able to get into His word abundantly of late. i searched out some references while reading about the whole armour of God.. We are in the last days and must stand so ready in every moment. Ready to boldly give answer to those who seek God, to those who do not know Him and those who are floundering in their salvation, lost as for a way to go. People that say they are saved, but are living for the prince of the world. i meet all kinds of people every day, i need to be prepared.

Here is Ephesians 6:10-18 with some references.

v10"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. v11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."

Here reference Romans 13:12 "The night is far spent, the day is at hand, let us therefore cast off the works of darkness and let us put on the armour of light."

v12"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

Here reference John 12:31 (Jesus speaking) "Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out." and Romans 8:38-39 "For i am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to seperate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

v13"Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. v14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness."

Here reference Isaiah 59:17 Speaking of the Lord, "For He put on righteousness as a breastplate and an helmet of salvation upon his head, and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak."

v15"And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace."

Here reference Isaiah 52:7 "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace, that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation, that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!"

v16"Above all, taking the shield of faith(the moral conviction of the truthfulness of God), wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked."

Here reference 1 John 5:4 "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world, and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."

v17 "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

Here reference Hebrew 4:12 "For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." and Revelation 1:16 "And he had in his right hand seven stars and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength."

v18 "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints."

Reference Philippians 1:4 "Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy."

Armor covered the body's most vulnerable places, head and chest. Some wore helmets. But we do not battle against flesh an blood, so our armour is spiritual. Just searching out the words truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, the word of God and prayer can be a great joy in growing in the Lord. But maybe another time.... God bless.
