BIKETOBERFEST

Self worth. What is yours wrapped up in? Measured by? What if there was a Biketoberfest for people who's self worth was measured by Jesus? Who had no worth apart from him? i guess for those of us that preach the word, we would not be needed. Wouldn't that be something? i guess that would be heaven and that is to come isn't it.

i am finishing up 5 days of working in my RV park, parking motorcycles. It has been interesting to say the least. From the folks i worked with to the ones coming for some "fun", i did not meet one souled out soul for Jesus. Not one. Doctors, Lawyers, Indian Chiefs, all decked out in the biker uniform so to speak, egos boosted, and some even wore spurs on their boots. What is up with that i wonder?? So much money invested in their bikes and some complained of the $2 parking fee. i found that funny. For the most part, all were well mannered, yet unsaved.

i met 5 folks from the Christian Bikers Association. Bikes all stickered up and emblazoned with Jesus. When i asked, they make it clear they to not "push" their "beliefs" on anyone unless someone wants to hear it. They spend their time blessing bikes (blessing bikes?) and being nice and having fun. i asked them if it bothered them that many of these people are going to hell? They said that they were being "examples" of good Christians. i asked them if they drink. They said no. Ahh, good example. i said i wanted to talk about Jesus. They said they did not want to debate how they serve God. OK then. They went on their merry way and i was saddened in my heart. Christians on bikes not witnessing to the truth.

i worked with Gary. We talked about his life, how he had gotten involved with this women who became a drug addict during their relationship. Her 11 year old son Doug was just taken from her by CPS. She is paranoid, controlling, etc. He got kicked out and is homeless. We talked about how Jesus could change his life, but his ex would have to deal with her own problems. i gave him Pastor Terry's card and he said he might come to church this Sunday (today), but yesterday the police came and took him away, right off the lot. Some charge by the ex. Again i was saddened in my heart.

i also worked with Billy, a "nice" young man of 27 from Edgewater. He thought he was coming to barback but found out when he got here he would be parking bikes. Billy was not pleased, but decided to work a few hours. So, we talked on and off from about 2pm to 5pm and he left. He is a Christian who is not walking it. He said he does not go to church. i explained to him it was not about church and the ritual, but about his relationship with Jesus. About his sin, repentance and walking in it. He asked about there being one God and all the other people worshiping other Gods. i said yes there is one God and all those others will go to hell. If he is a Christian, he needs to know this. He said he had a problem with that and said it was harsh. He wants to think and talk some more and i hope we see Billy again.

i met "Christians" from Maryland, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and many from Florida. Each opportunity i had to speak of The Lord was brief, but i established much. There were three types i talked to... Those who had no Jesus and were here for the party, those who "knew of" Jesus and were here for the party, and those who "knew of " Jesus and were here for the party but did not smoke or did not drink. There you have it. No one, not one, was truly representing Jesus. They put Jesus aside for this as they do for anything where they let the flesh win in their lives. Where they let Satan reign over Jesus.

i have to go back to work now, this is my last shift from 10am to 2pm. i will finish this up tonight.
