JESUS DELAYED?

By mans judgment and standards, in mans eyes, it may look to some like Jesus return is delayed. But by God's standards His timing is perfect. Never late, never early, but perfect in every way as He is perfect. Do we believe this? Do we have faith, the moral conviction of the truthfulness of God? Do we believe He is coming? What will He find?

"My brethren, be not many masters(teachers), knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation." James 3:1

If we are teachers, preachers, witnesses and even worship leaders, do we believe we are held to a higher standard? What are the "teachers" in our churches doing? What are they teaching? What examples are they setting?

"And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us, for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. And Aaron said unto them, "Break off the golden earrings which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me". And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf, and they said, "These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt."" Exodus 32;1-4

What is going on here? The stiff-necked Israelites, God's chosen people, were impatient, could not wait for Moses to get back. They decided to erect other gods to follow. They(the original group that left Egypt) never entered into the promised land, except Joshua and Caleb. Will we? Sound at all like today? While we are awaiting Jesus return, what are we doing, what are we teaching our children and each other? What kind of holy sanctified by His blood and suffering examples are we? Why are we so impatient. Churches are justifying their sin and building their religion around them. They say they are worshiping and following Jesus, but are they? They look so much like the world, i say they are following the prince of the world. Drinking at home groups where the Word of God should be followed and taught. Risque and racy pictures on our blogs and myspace for all to see. It is just saddening and disconcerting. Leaders should be an example to the people. Do not give me that line, "it's ok to drink", "it's ok to smoke", "i don't get drunk". Why not just serve it up at church? If it is ok at home then it is ok at church, there is no difference, the building is only as holy as the people in it. If the Holy Ghost is not doing a work on you at home he most certainly is not just showing up for church. Amen.

Satan is in the churches of today and what is sad is that people are giving in to him. Giving in to the easy believism. The easy road, no cross, no pain, just fit in what i want at church and for my life and i'm there. ANYTHING we put before the Lord is our god. What is it? Our will, love of money, my way or the highway, lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, pride of life, drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, temper, nice cars, clothes, stuff, things, looking good at church, saying all the right things, fear? What is it? What is it that knocks God off the throne in our lives? Why can't we just put Him and His will first, instead of trying to mold his will to ours?

People, we are a holy and sanctified people, set apart for Him. We are God's remnant church on earth, his hands and feet, His ambassadors. What are we winning people to? Our churches? No, we are winning them to Jesus, we are bringing them into the eternal kingdom of Jesus Christ. That in itself is a holy calling. That is the work of the Holy Ghost in us. Do not make light of it. Evil is real and running rampant in the world. It is a serious business, that of heaven and hell, and none so real and final as that.

Romans 12:2 "And be ye not conformed to this world......."

"Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils, ye cannot be partakers of the Lords table and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he? All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient, all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not." 1 Corinthians 10:21-23

Expedient: (Greek=symphero): for your good
Edify: (Greek=oikodomeo): build up spiritually

"It is good neither to eat flesh, nor drink wine, nor anything whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended or is made weak." Romans 14:21

WE ARE THE EXAMPLE TO THE WEAK AND LOST... WE WHO CALL OURSELVES CHRISTIANS.

"No man can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."
Matthew 6:24

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:19-21

These are not just words to the Christian, these are the Words of God. These words are life to us. We live and move and have our being in them. The Bible is the living word of God meant for us today. If you are not growing in your relationship with Jesus in them, you are letting Satan win. You are letting the world and the lost down, you are letting Jesus down. Lost people need you to reach them now. Do you not know the hour is fast approaching that Jesus will return? What will he find you doing? Kicking back with a cold one, or doing His will on earth? Giving in to your sin nature, your selfish ego and pride, or doing His will on earth. Please pray, read and seek Him out in the word, and go. Just Go.
