IBERVILLE DAY/FRENCH QUARTER NIGHT

Saturday night we went to the French Quarter after our day in the Iberville Project. Wanda and i went out together. We started off in Jackson Square. Wanda and i talked to two guys at the big black gate. Their names escape me but alcohol was their bondage. One guy was throwing up and had a bottle of Vodka in one hand and a bottle of Hawaiian Punch in the other. He had yet to take the drink so we were telling him how he could be released of this bondage right now by the blood of Jesus. We talked to him till he finally took a drink and we walked away. It is sad but it was his choice.

We met James, sitting on a bench. It was odd because as we were walking in he was on a bench by Cafe Du Monde, then he was on a bench in the square where we engaged him. He did not talk much and was wrapped in a colorful blanket. We ascertained he did not need anything but would like some chips, so we walked to the mini-mart up the street and got chips. On the way to the mini-mart we saw a lady sitting on the ground and talked to her a few minutes. She was angry because two guys, one big white man and one big black man gave her a fake dollar bill. (Pastors Todd and Thomas!!) We could not get her off that and had little success at getting her to hear what we were saying. We also ran into Michael, Derrick and Stuart. Michael said he was ready for a program tonight but had to meet his nephew first, Derrick said he was not ready tonight, and Stuart came late and just prayed with us. We all prayed in a circle together. We finally got back to James and gave him the chips and that was it. He just did not talk except to say thanks. We pray a lot for the Holy Ghost to convict hearts to Godly sorrow, repentance and salvation. We pray a lot.

When we got to Bourbon Street we saw Scott leaning against a closed gated restaurant. We talked to him. He had just recently lost his friend and his sister. He was very sad in his heart. He said he goes to the church to pay tribute to them by lighting candles. He does not go to services. We told him it is about Jesus anyway, not services, and how he could have salvation come to him. He was very attentive and listened to us. He was not willing to give it all up. We talked to him until his friend showed up and he had to go. Pray for Scott.

SCOTT

About this time we looked around and saw no RAVENs anywhere. We thought that was odd. We called and found out they were getting ready to call it a night, so we headed back to Cafe Du Monde. On the way we met Debbie, a Christian that goes to church. She was with her Wicken "friends" and one was having her fortune told.. We asked what was she doing here. She knew she needed to get right with the Lord, and was denying him to her friends. When her friend came, she could not talk anymore and had to go. Chose to go with them. Sad. We took her number. Matthew 10:33 says "But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will i also deny before my Father which is in heaven." There is a real judgement coming and a real hell that awaits the sinner.

DEBBIE

We headed back to Cafe Du Monde and past James again on a new bench about where we had seen him the first time. In unison we both said, "hi James" and we headed back to our brothers and sisters who were waiting for us.

Some of us stayed up and taled about our experiences and about our God. We went to bed praying for salvation to come to the lost. Amen.

Sunday was a day of departure. We went to a local church for service then had lunch together before the Daytona team loaded up and started our drive home. It was a quick but powerful weekend in the Lord. God is great, amen.

"And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, "The harvest is truly plenteous, but the labourers are few. Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." Mathew 9:35-38

THE HARVEST

Pray ye therefore.... amen.
