MARDI GRAS 2008
These are some photos i shot while at the 12th Annual Mardi Gras outreach to souls. i am having some technical problems with my slideshow. There is so much to share, many miracles of God, salvations, prophecy and signs. But for me, what stands out, i came back with a brokenness that is hard to speak of. One that found me crying out to my Mom that we should all be afraid, afraid for our families that say they are saved, for those that are not, for our friends, acquaintances, co-workers, neighbors, anyone we meet, we should be afraid, saddened, and broken that they are quite probably going to hell. It is just not OK. When we hear the word of God, obey Him, and just GO wherever we are, we will see the miraculous break through. We will see God work in lives. We will see God. That was my joy and honor in the unspeakable evil of it all, to see God break through the hearts of stone, and for the truly repentant sinner, He gave them a new heart with His word written on it. Instantaneously. It is so not about me, and all about being that empty vessel that God can work through and use for his glory. When i get my own self out of Gods way and am obedient to His every word. God is so amazing. No words can describe the joy that he gives to his believers, his servants. No matter how we are buffeted about on either side by the enemy, our God ALWAYS is there to sustain us. Amen.
We are living in what the Bible calls the Age of Grace or Time of the Gentiles. This time is our time, time for us (all professed Christians) to preach the Gospel of our Lord Jesus to the lost and dying. The Jews of Jesus day rejected Him, and their mandate to preach the Gospel. To simply witness of His life. They killed him and held onto their perceived places of man made honor and power and glory. Thus ensuring their place in hell. God in his mercy and grace now treats them like us. They have no free ride into heaven, they must accept Jesus as their Saviour just as we do. Are we doing any better at it than the Pharisees and religious leaders of the day? How are we faring in "to seek and save that which was lost." Soon, we will be taken out of the picture. God will snatch us remnant of Gentiles home and the Age of Grace will be over. Then what? Well, Matthew 24:16-24 paints a pretty good picture, and Daniel 9 and Revelation 13-14. Not a pretty picture, where the 144,000 elect that God has saved for this time will try to keep the last few from going to hell. Where living for Jesus will most probably end in martyrdom. Where life will have even less worth than it does today. It will be very ugly.
So, i'm thinking it would be worth it right now to pick up our old dusty family Bible and become very familiar with it. Get to know the Jesus we say we know and love, so He will know us when the time comes we need him to. Let the word grow in us so we can stand on what is written in our heart when we can no longer look in the Book. Fill up on the word of God every chance we get. Tell everyone we know about Him and those we do not know. Share him. Love Him. Joy in Him. It is so past the time where we could sit in a pew for an hour every Sunday and innocently think that is enough. The sin of inactivity, there is no excuse for it. This life, it is all about our relationship with God, with the Son he sacrificed on a cross for us, the Son who shed his blood for us, the one who has been waiting over 2,000 years to have a relationship with us. What is our excuse now? What could it possibly be? What is more important than serving Jesus? Pleasing ourselves? "Being a good person?" Cars, bikes, TV, jobs, boats, RVs, vacations, money, booze, cigarettes, sex, prestige, power, parties, movies, bills, shopping, things, stuff, clothes, stress, aches, pains, toys? Same as in Noahs time...no one would read the signs of the times, they were all busy about themselves and the flood came and took them all away. Sad how history repeats itself. Funny, we have every tool to learn and we do not. His word says it all. After this eye-blink of a life, this vapour, none of it will matter when we stand before Him. None of it. No excuses. Only how we served Him and if he knows us.
Hell is real and i sure do not want any part of it. Eternity. Where will you spend it? STARTING NOW...
