"IT IS WRITTEN"
The power of the written Word of God. There is nothing like it now, or ever was, or ever shall be. The Word of God stands alone. i have been writing in this forum for almost two years now. If a person were to go back through the archive of my writing they would find i mostly write about the Word of God and my experiences walking in it. i guess i know that we can never get enough of him and when we die we will have only scratched the surface of the "unsearchable riches of God" (Ephesians 3:8), and all questions will be answered. So cool. Yet even so, in in this life, for all the searching and writing and pouring my heart out for Jesus i am renewed each day in the searching. i love our God with all my heart, with all my soul, with all my mind and with all my strength (Luke 10:27), and i will always follow him (Matthew 16:24) and be obedient (Philippians 2:8) to His word. i also love my neighbor as myself and i believe in my heart i would die for him (Matthew 19:19, John 15:3). i believe this is my reasonable service, a living sacrifice unto my God (Romans 12:1)
i have been lately looking up the women of the Bible and have found some great role models in some remarkable women. i will blog that at a later time. Today i was very moved by our morning Bible study. My heart is broken and my cry is for mercy. i am convinced the reason people flock to the likes of Tod Bentley and Bobby Sullivan is because they are not firmly built up on the foundation of Jesus Christ, the Word of God (Matthew 7:24-27). They are the Foolish who will not stand in God's sight (Psalm 5:5), and their mouths are near destruction (Proverbs 10:14). Great will the fall of them be. When the Lord comes back they will be like the virgins with no oil for their lamps, shut out (Matthew 25:8) forever. Eternity. So sad.
But even sadder still are those who lead them there. The greater sin is on their head, the blood on their hands. i could quote scripture after scripture about light and darkness, and conviction and condemnation. About watchmen and the evil days we are in. But frankly, the verses i am about to quote could be each a blog in themselves. The riches of our God are endless and today i just want to bring to light the awesome power and beauty of the Written Word of God and the need of prayer and witnessing for all these lost souls.
The ones who lead astray will be so sorry on the day of the Lord, but sorry will not be good enough then. Repentance is for now while our God can be found (Isaiah 55:6). Seek Him Now. i like to say Where the Word speaks, we speak, and where the Word is silent we are silent. The tongue, the most unruly member. Ecclesiastes 5:1-3 and James 3 are good among other places. i like this verse..."Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter anything before God, for God is in heaven and thou upon earth, therefore let thy words be few. For a dream cometh through the multitude of business and a fools voice is known by multitude of words." Ecclesiastes 5:2-3 Written by King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived. EVER. God in heaven hears every word we utter, every thought we think. We cannot hide ANYTHING.
Today there was the correlation made between Romans 15:6 which reads "That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ," and Psalm 119. How do we become of one mind and mouth? With Jesus and with each other? We are washed daily by the water of the Word of God (Ephesians 5:26), to be cleansed. The spirit of our mind is renewed daily (Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:23, Colossians 3:10), we search the scriptures daily (Acts 17:11), we deny ourselves, take up our cross daily and follow Him (Luke 9:23), then we become one mind and mouth in him and with each other in the body. Do we see that? The Word is life (John 5:24, John 6:63) and life eternal (John 17:3). We NEED it DAILY. But no, to most of the world it is too much work to seek Gods will for our lives each day, to fall on our faces or knees and pray. God cries out to us from deep within and longs and desires that none should perish (2 Peter 3:9). WAKE UP people, God is God and we are not. We need to start acting like it. We need to start doing our part.
Romans 15:6 which reads "That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Psalm 119 was written by David, a man after God's own heart, a king, yet still just a man. He followed God, cried out to God, was sinful, suffered the consequences, prayed, fasted, sought God out. By God's great mercy we are afforded the same grace as David, the same access to God, the same blessing, chastening, joy and sorrow. God is so good to us. HE sent His Son. We have the Word. Gods mercy throughout time...
Psalm 119:11...."Thy Word have i hid in mine heart that i might not sin against thee."
Psalm 119:105.... "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
Psalm 119:114.... "Thou art my hiding place and my shield, i hope in thy Word."
Psalm 119:116... "Uphold me according unto thy Word, that i may live, and let me not be ashamed of my hope."
Psalm 119:140... "Thy Word is very pure therefore thy servant loveth it."
Psalm 119:158.. "i beheld the transgressors and was grieved, because they kept not thy Word."
Psalm 119:160.. "Thy Word is true from the beginning, and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth forever."
Psalm 119:161.. "Princes have persecuted me without a cause, but my heart standeth in awe of thy Word."
Psalm 119:162.. "i rejoice at thy Word as one that findeth great spoil."
Psalm 119:169.. "Let my cry come near before thee, O Lord, give me understanding according to thy Word."
Psalm 119:170.. "Let my supplication come before thee, deliver me according to thy Word."
Psalm 119:172.. "My tongue shall speak of thy Word, for all thy commandment are righteous."
"For his merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise ye the Lord. Psalm 117:2
So in closing...i beseech us all to pray, pray for the ones who are being led astray in great numbers all over the world. Pray for the ones leading them astray. Pray that the mercy and grace of God will be recognized in them, that they truly accept Jesus, and the Holy Spirit will be able to do a mighty work in them all for the Glory of God..amen.
