NYC 2008 (Part 1)
Today i am home from NYC and gathering my thoughts and reflections. It was one of the best outreaches i have ever been on. i had heard so much about New York and this outreach from so many. The nations are truly represented in that place. i found myself engaged with Muslims, Hindu, a Satanist, a Quaker, Jewish people and many many "Christians". It was quite amazing. Yet, every person i talked to, from New York, and tourists to New York, was friendly, and open to at least listen. i may not have liked what i had to listen to or the end result sometimes, but God will work it all out, amen.
The Lord says not to respect persons and commit sin (James 2:9), to fear God not man, and to be swift to hear, slow to speak and slow to wrath (James 1:19). i feel this finds fruition on the street. When i hear the person i talk to, i find it easier to minister to their heart because i can hear it. For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34). i want to be bold in the Lord and speak the truth with love and righteousness, and a patient endurance. Amen.
i came home with a new zeal to search out scripture for a response to other religions and possibly getting some info in a format to share. There are so many that need Jesus and i want to be a better minister of reconciliation, a better minister of the word of God. i lead many to the Lord, and He will save them. i just want to do a good job leading them.
There were so many experiences, but i shall share the last and one that was a blessing throughout.
My last experience was with Ed and Wanda from Canada, and Troy from New Orleans. This was Sunday night on Times Square. There were 5 boys wandering the streets in Times Square. They were clean and well dressed and fed. They had family, yet they were out alone at about midnight in NYC wandering around. That in itself was a mind blower. They were Zion Brown-6, Melshawn-13, Curtis-10, Fred-14 and Khirst-11. We started talking to these boys and found that their moms kind of speak of Jesus (they are cousins), but none were saved. So, as Wanda spoke to them, i took Zion aside for some personal attention as his little attention span was shorter. He is only 6 so i spoke to him of the garden, the ark, and of Jesus saving work on the Cross in his terms. He touched my heart as i remembered Myles coming to Jesus at 5. As i was ministering to this young heart, Wanda had taken Curtis aside to receive Jesus. Then all the older boys wanted Jesus so we called Troy over to pray with them. This was a wonderful time in the Lord. i would ask you to stand in the gap in prayer for these boys. To pray for the Holy Spirit of God to do a mighty work in them and preserve them in the faith til they can stand strongly on their own foundation. And for Zion until he is ready to ask for Jesus in his heart as well. Amen.

We stayed at Abounding Grace Ministries Church on 9 East 7th Street. There were many, many steps to the upper level which i was blessed never to have to climb since the guys were housed there!! The ladies were housed on the first level which had enough steps for me. It was fun to be with the women and the young women who had come. As always, it is a great part of any outreach to fellowship together. On this one, i was blessed to meet two wonderful women of God who i am happy to know i will keep in touch with. Diana and Carmin were there to see to all our needs and were out on the street with us elbow to elbow, preaching the word of God. For me it is a blessing to meet other single women of God who are following hard after him. It was a joy and i am looking forward to going back to visit them soon. amen.
