WHERE'S YOUR HOUSE?
When Jesus taught the Sermon on the Mount, he was teaching the multitudes and he taught many "sayings." The last thing he taught was about the house...our house, our temple of God where He dwells. Are we wise? Is our house built up and standing strong on the solid Rock of Jesus, full of His word, his doctrine? Or are we fools? Is our house built on the sinking sand of some other false doctrine? Who is living in our house and where is it built? Jesus says...the house built on the sand will have a GREAT fall. Hear his word and obey it. Teach it to others. Read it, love it, live it, preach it..NOW is the time.
" Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, i will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell not for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it." Matthew 7:24-27
When we build on the sure foundation of the Cross, the Blood of Jesus, when we are in the Word of God and prayer, then we are built up in our faith (the moral conviction of the truthfulness of God) by learning and understanding God's Word, we can stand on it and not be shaken by anything the Devil will throw at us...no false doctrine will stand because the Holy Spirit of God will quicken within us what is of God and what is not.
"That we be Henceforth, no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the slight of men, and cunning craftiness whereby they lie in wait to deceive." Ephesians 4:14
and
"For when for the time you ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God, and are become such as have need of milk and not of strong meat. For everyone that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." Hebrews 5:12-14
The days are evil folks and the devil is out deceiving the multitudes. He will try to knock you down. Don't be one who is weak in the faith, be strong and take others with you by teaching them. Do not let your brother or make your brother stumble. Teach them all you have to teach. There is no shortcut...the simple truth is that without God's word in us (Psalm 119:11), we will live in the sin nature, we will not grow to be Christ-like, we will not mature in Him. We will be swept away and great will be the fall.
If we have been saved by the Blood of Jesus, there is no compromise no lukewarm position (Revelation 3:15). If we cannot say as Paul did in 1 Corinthians 11:1 "Be followers of me, even as i also am of Christ." Then we need to repent of whatever it is we do not want others to follow and get right with Jesus. Because others are watching us all the time, especially if we say we are Christians. Think about our children...they see everything, you cannot hide one part of your life that is not righteous and think the other parts are.
