ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED??
Are you saved? Are you trusting in a decision made long ago and not Jesus? Did you say some little prayer that did not change your heart?
Let me say that salvation comes by a true profession of faith, with Godly sorrow and grief (2Corinthians 7:9-10) that makes us hate sin and how we have grieved God. True salvation changes the heart and makes us new in Christ. It is loving God and hating our sin. It is not lip service in a moment and then going about your normal walk in darkness in this world.
John wrote his Gospel so men would be saved (John 3:16). He told Nicodemus that except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God...that he must be born of water and the Spirit to enter the kingdom of God...John 3:3-5. John wrote his letters so men would know they have eternal life (1 John 5:13). Are we examining our lives? (2 Corinthians 13:5) Do we have a new relationship with sin? Do we know God is pure, God is light, and has revealed who he is to us, and his will for us? (1 John 1-6-7) Are we habitually walking in the light? Do we have an new relationship with God, His Word, His commandments? Because if we say we are born again and say we are doing his will, and we are walking in the dark, we lie (1 john 1:8). Are we continually searching out Gods will for our lives? Do we recognize sin in our lives, are we sensitive to it, and are we open to rebuke? Do we know we are called to walk daily in righteous repentance?
John 3:19 says this..."And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deed were evil."
