CHOOSE THE NARROW WAY
"Enter ye in at the strait gate, for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. Because strait is the gate and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life and few there be that find it." Matthew 7:13-14
It probably sounds like i harp on this subject a lot. On Gods way for us and how to find it. On the narrowness of the way to him. FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT. Few, a remnant, not many. FEW CHOOSE JESUS. A choice we make moment by moment. i believe we must redeem our time in each moment, and these days are evil, this day (Ephesians 5:16), and as the Word says, he that doeth evil has not seen God (1 John 1:11). Has not seen God. The times are growing more evil and dark as we move swiftly to the Lord's return. This brings great joy and great sorrow to my heart.
Truly i want him to return, that would be the greatest. But so many are left in the world and being lost every day, especially our youth. How many would not stand the judgment? i am grieved for them and my prayers are continual for them. Especially those i know who claim falsely to be Christians following Jesus. They continue to choose sin. 2 Timothy 3:1-7 truly says much about our lost youth. Loving themselves and their sin more than the God they claim to know, loving a moments worldly pleasure more than God, disobedient to parents, unholy in mind, thought and speech, they have absolutely no fear of God (Romans 3:18), no moral dread of being displeasing unto the Lord, no Godly sorrow to repentance(2 Corinthians 7:9-10). No true repentance that changes their lives and gives them hope and joy in their Saviour, Jesus Christ. A life lived in Him. Where he becomes who we are. God is way down their list of priorities when he should be first. The youth of today have established many false idols before God and God has no place in their hearts. They are full of empty words and lives. Following hard after the world and all the lusts thereof. Why are they choosing sin over God? Why can they not escape temptation when i know God provides all we need to escape it? Because they need to take personal responsibility of their relationship with Jesus.
i believe that most Churches today have diminished the standard of God's righteousness so much that they can justify any sin. They wink at sin. Church is an i'm OK, you're OK club. Come on Sunday and sin all week....Well, the truth is, God does not wink at sin, any sin. All sin must be confessed and repented of. All sin. Sin is clear in the Word of God even if every church has diminished the message. Preaching on the cross and repentance is just not popular. GET INTO GODS WORD AND GODS WORD WILL GET INTO YOU.
How do i know our youth are choosing sin? Because i am not blind to the spiritual things of God, i can see and hear. By their actions, by their words, by their deeds. They have chosen the world, they have chosen compromise. Instead of exhorting one another daily in the word of God (Hebrews 3:13), hearts are being hardened. Allowing the lusts of their hearts to dishonor their bodies, sinful and unholy words to flow from their mouths orally and written, by provocative and sensual clothes and poses in pictures, by lyrics to the songs they listen to and own and allow into their hearts. They do not like to retain God in their knowledge and God gives them over to reprobate minds (minds that reject God, do not have him in them) (Romans 1:28). And having friends in their lives that are unholy without standing for Jesus. Instead of using the latest tools of technology to make a stand for Jesus, they use these tools to be part of the world that Satan reigns in. There is no fight in them for holiness and righteousness, only unholy compromise and self-righteousness that leads to sin after sin and eternal damnation in the lake of fire.
Can it be that they have never truly known god? That they have truly never been born again? John 3:3 "Verily, verily, i say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Is this the case?
Or do they know and choose not to care? Because it is a choice. James 4:17 says: "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." And habitual sin, living in the sin nature we were born with, will harden your heart till eventually one may never find their way back (Hebrews 10:26-27). Jesus died so this might not be so. It is a choice.
There are no shortcuts. To have eternal life and know God and Jesus (John 17:3) one must study and read the word, one must pray and serve Him. There is no other way. It is sad to think that while people play around with the fate of their own souls, consciences being seared as with a hot iron (1 Timothy 4:1-2), there are other souls waiting on them to be led to Jesus. There is an eternal consequence for a life that habitually chooses to sin. It is death, hell and eternal separation from God. As John the Baptist knew, we must decrease and Jesus increase (John 3:30). We must fill our hearts and lives with Jesus and God's will in our lives. Increase that our only will is that of God. This is just the way it is, this is the life he gave us to live. Choose Jesus. Come on...the time is now, the day of salvation is now. "We then as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. For he saith, i have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have i succoured thee, behold, now is the accepted time, behold, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6:1-2
i am not down on our youth...i love them. We adults can be just as guilty. But i am hoping and praying for the youth to begin revival in our land. i love them and i am grieved and saddened by what i see and hear continually. That they cannot stand on the truth of Jesus. The time is now and we need to choose now. i love you all...There is always hope. Cry out to God, confess, repent and humble yourselves before him. He will hear those who humble themselves (2 Chronicles 7:14) and seek his face.
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord forever, for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength." Isaiah 26:3-4
