THINK ABOUT THIS
"Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8
In our days, as we go about our "worldly" business, are we focused on the eternal, on things that we can praise God for? All those things mentioned by Paul? i pray we are..
"Knowing this first, that there shall come n the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts." 2 Peter 3:3
We see this all around. Christians giving in to the lusts of the flesh, lusts of the eyes and the pride of life (1 John 2:16). my brothers and sisters, do not be deceived. Satan is stepping up his evil ways as we march to the end, it is imperative that we are closer to God than ever.
"But the end of all things is at hand, be ye therefore sober and watch unto prayer. And above all things have fervent love among yourselves, for love shall cover the multitude of sins." 1 Peter 4:7-8
1 and 2 Peter are a treasure as is the whole word of God. i feel an urgency to say that we need to be sober and vigilant in our lives. Focused wholly on God. We need to know for a fact and without a doubt that God will provide all our physical needs (Matthew 6). When we know that, we must pay attention and focus on our Spiritual readiness. We must get our heart right with God and keep it there. Our hearts are deceitfully wicked so can be led astray..Jeremiah 17:9-10, Proverbs 4:23.
So, we are in the Word of God faithfully as much as we can be every single day, we are on our knees in prayer the same, and pray as we go about our day, we are sharing Jesus with all who God puts in our path, we are loving our brothers and sisters in the body with the mercy God has shown us by covering their sins and not exposing them, and forgiving them as many times as it takes. RIGHT?
Feel free to add to this list of last day things to think about...May the grace and peace of our Lord and Saviour be with you all...amen.
