DIG DEEP
"Whosoever cometh to me and heareth my sayings and doeth them, i will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock, and when the flood arose the stream beat vehemently upon that house and could not shake it, for it was founded upon a rock." Luke 6:47-48
Amen. i have been told, "you do not have to know everything, just know what you know real good." This is sound advise and wise. i am in the season of my life in the Lord right now where his word is coming in like a flood. It is washing over me like fresh rain, cleansing me from iniquity and leading me beside still waters. i am truly live in eternal debt to our God. Praise him.
i want to be built on the foundation on our Lord Jesus Christ, the Chief Cornerstone, and i want my roots to be deep within Him. i want to draw my every life breath from the living water that is Jesus. Amen.
This means my number one priority is God, nothing else. ALL things revolve around him at the center; my family, my job, my home, my comings and goings, ALL things. i schedule them ALL around God, not God around them, no matter the personal cost.
What i know without a shadow of doubt is this: Stay in God's word, pray continually, and do what God's word says. This is the ultimate short version of what our lives as Christians should be while we await his coming. This will sink our roots deep within the heart of Jesus, this will keep us through any storm or flood, this will lead us to etenity.
"Thy word have i hid in mine heart, that i might not sin aganst the." Psalm 119:11
"These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." Acts 17:11
"Continue in prayer and watch in the same with thanksgiving." Colossians 4:2
"...Labouring vervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God." Colossians 4:12
"And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not faint." Luke 18:1
i desire and pray for new revelation from the Lord all the time. i make this my prayer:
"....desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding." Colossians 1:9
So i am saying, did deep. Dig deep into God's Word, into prayer, into God's heart for you. As you walk this world each day as a pilgrim who belongs in eternity, speak boldly into peoples lives, within the body and without. The world needs Jesus, and the urgency of the hour means we have got to wake up, put God first and seek fresh and new revelation from Him. Life is short, work hard for the kingdom. Amen, amen and amen.
God bless you all, amen.
