THIS DAY

RAVEN Ministries is in our annual season of prayer and fasting. The first fast of the year when we focus on pressing in to our God as a family. Each one looking inward to God and expectant God will reveal himself to us in new ways.

This time is running concurrently with our adult leadership discipleship and the expository study in the Book of Revelation, and has been an extended time in the word and prayer, revealing to me that i should be the same every day. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. So should i be. This day is the day the Lord has made. This day has enough evil thereof. This day is the perfect time to take thought for the things of this day. This day is the one God will provide for and answer prayers for, this day. Yesterday is gone, and tomorrow will take care of itself. All we have is this day.

When my nephew Myles was a young child, i would tell him about something that we were planning to do. He would inevitably say "This day, auntie?". i would try to explain the concept of tomorrow or even the day after tomorrow, but to him "This Day" was all he knew. Well, that was prophetic for me, looking back at it. This day is all we need to know, it is the day we are living right now in the Lord. The only one promised to us. How are we doing with that? If this was our last day and we were breathing our last breath, would we be home with God at the end? This Day?

i am not saying that we do not plan the things God has put in out heart to plan for his Glory. i am saying that the evil of this day is enough of a battle to fight. The anxiety and worry of jobs, money, cars, family, etc... The worldly things need to be put aside daily, laid at His feet, each and every day, this day, and our focus this day should be on His will for us. We need to commit to God, submit to God, be consistent with God and live God. Who will he put in our path this day who needs to hear the saving message of the cross? Who will he put in our path that needs to eat or needs a coat or a drink? Needs encouragement? The things He wants us to do he will supply the needs for, if we trust him. He says it in his word, i believe it and trust it with all my heart. i stand on his promises of yes and amen. If i believe His word, then this day is enough, and serving Him this day is enough. He is true, His word is true, he will not lie, He is faithful even when we are not, He loves us when we do not love him, we have no room for doubt. Walk humbly before Him, in the Spirit and in prayer and serve him this day, amen. If this is my last day, i want to hear "well done my good and faithful servant", amen, amen and amen.
