LOVE ON BOURBON STREET

"But the fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, against such there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23

"LOVE suffereth long, and is kind, love envieth not, love vaunteth(boast) not itself, is not puffed up(proud), Doth not behave unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh NO evil, rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things(protects), believeth all things(trusts), hopeth all things, endureth all things(perseveres), LOVE never fails."
1 Corinthians 134-8

"These things i command you, that ye LOVE one another." John 15:17

"This is my commandment, that ye LOVE one another, as i have loved you. Greater LOVE hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

"If ye LOVE me, keep my commandments. John 14:15

The greatest commandment?

"Jesus said unto them, Thou shalt LOVE the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt LOVE thy neighbour as thyself." Matthew 22:37-39

Love, love love. Wow. Jesus was pretty clear on how and who and why we are to love. Jesus was moved with compassion on the multitudes (Matthew9:36) and we should be too. With God's perspective, seeing like Jesus saw, we must do what Jesus did. Jesus went to reach the lost, to reach the one, and so do we. Amen.

Brother Ivan pulled me into his witness one night on the streets at Mardi Gras and i was blessed with a new vision. A scripture i know and have known for some time became a witness tool for me. The scripture is of the one lost sheep. The one.

"For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. How think ye? If a man have an hundred sheep and one of them be gone astray doth he not leave the ninety and nine and goeth into the mountains and seeketh that which is gone astray? And if so be that he find it, verily i say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. Even so it is not the will of our Father which is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish." Matthew 18:11-14

Amen, amen and amen. i was standing on the street praying, and Brother Ivan pulled on my shirt sleeve and kept saying to me, "Isn't this the one? Isn't this the one?" It took me a minute but i finally said, yea, i think that's the one, that's him. Then the witness began... It was amazing. Some kept going, but the ones that stopped heard the word of our testimony.
