CHOOSE JESUS

THE most important decision we will ever make in this life concerns our willingness to follow God's plan for our lives as revealed in the Bible. This decision directly impacts our daily life and our eternal destiny.

"Great peace have they which love thy law and nothing shall offend them." Psalm 119:165

"But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely and shall be quiet from fear of evil." Proverbs 1:33

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you and to your children and to all that are afar off, even as many as the lord our God shall call." Acts 2:38-39

"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15

See also..Matthew 6:25-34, Mark 8:34-38, John 3:16-21

God enables us to take the necessary first step toward lasting biblical change. This step is our response to God's demonstrated love for us in Christ Jesus.

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." John 1:12

"But God commendeth his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature, old things are passed away and behold all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17

See also..John 3:16-21, Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 John 4:10

Because God's standard for his people is one of perfection:

"Be ye therefore perfect even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect" Matthew 5:48

We cannot meet it by our own efforts:

" And enter not into judgment with thy servant, for in thy sight shall no man living be justified." Psalm 143:3, see also Romans 3:23 and Ecclesiastes 7:20.

We cannot save ourselves:

"Who can say, i have made my heart clean, i am pure from my sin?" Proverbs 20:9

Nor can we depend on any other human being to redeem us:

"None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him." Psalm 49:7

We need to recognize our helplessness to meet God's standard:

"But we are all as an unclean thing and all our righteousness are as filthy rags and we all do fade as a leaf, and our iniquities like the wind have taken us away" Isaiah 64:6 also see Romans 3:9-12

We need to repent of our sin:

"i say unto you that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons which need no repentance." Luke 15:7, also see Acts 2:38, 3:19, Romans 2:4 and 2 Peter 3:9

By God's grace and mercy we recognize our lost conditio and believe wholeheartedly and sincerely on the Lord Jesus Christ to receive the gift of eternal life:

John 3:16, 36, 5:24, 11:25-26, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5-7 and 1 John 5:11-13.

And forgiveness for our sins:

Mark 16:16, John 3:16-18, 8:24, Acts 2:38, 4:12, Romans 10:9-13 and Ephesians 1:7

Amen, amen and amen.
