PASTOR TROY'S LEADERSHIP LESSONS...(ongoing)

LEADERSHIP LESSON # 91 - Many will say to Jesus, "Look at all that we did, and we even used Your name!" and He will say, "I never knew you or endorsed those things" [from Mt 7:22-23] Leaders (and those following them) need to make sure that the things that they do in His name are not merely "good ideas", but "God ideas...". Not everything that seems right is right [Prov 14:12] and the consequences can be enormous.

LEADERSHIP LESSON # 29 - - Leaders will always reproduce leaders. If you are not working yourself out of a job, then you are failing miserably at the primary function of leadership; to train and equip others to do the work of the ministry and then trust them to actually go and do it!

LEADERSHIP LESSON # 72 - - LEADERSHIP = [to lead] is to ‘show the way though one’s conduct or influence’; [er] is an interjection that means ‘hesitation or uncertainty’; [ship] is a ‘means of transport.’ So the goal of leadership is to- Show people a way or means to get through times of uncertainty. Is your leadership ...leading people to a place of stability in "Christ" or to a place of confusion in "crisis?"

LEADERSHIP LESSON # 13 - You don't choose the call, the call chooses you. "Gifts and Callings" may be irrevocable; This only means that an invitation has been extended to you to gauge your commitment. "Gifts & Callings" without commitment, consecration, and character will only serve to expose selfish motives and bring ...a greater judgment upon your life. Don't boast of a call if you're not willing to give your all.

LEADERSHIP LESSON #49 - Leadership is as much about "character" as it is "calling." The "call" is your invite to come and prepare for the task, your "character" is what will qualify you for that task. The reason that Jesus said, "Many are called but few are chosen" is because many are ready to embrace the call, but few... are willing to pay the price necessary to develop Godly character.

LEADERSHIP LESSON #22 - Your leadership will never be measured by your accomplishments, but rather by your obedience. God is not impressed by your "doing" as much as He is your "dying" because your works apart from His will may gain you fame in man's eyes, but will never provide you entrance into God's Kingdom.

LEADERSHIP LESSON #111 - When you accept the call to Leadership, accept it only on the condition that you cease to live according to the abilities of the natural man. You are no longer "just a man" You are a man with a call and with that call comes a supernatural ability to DO and BE the things that God has ordained fo...r your life. Never apologize for walking in a the Spirit's supernatural enablement.

LEADERSHIP LESSON #36 - Jesus' leadership lead others to the Cross so that they could be crucified with Him (Ephesians 2:20). Is your leadership leading people to a place of self-denial or self-preservation. The test is found in how many times your leadership utilizes the words "I", "My", or "Me" and in asking yourself the question, "Is where I am leading people a mandate from God or just a good idea?"

LEADERSHIP LESSON #126 - Christian Leader's authority will only be equal to their level of submission. Where there is no genuine submission, their will be no genuine authority. Submission is usually uncomfortable because it is only evidenced when you're required to do something that your flesh, circumstance, or predetermined plan would rather not do.

Hebrews 13:17 says, " Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit."

[The Benefit of this is seen in]

James 4:7-8 "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded."

LEADERSHIP LESSON #234 - Christian Leaders will always log more miles in their efforts to be obedient to the Holy Spirit than mere followers. This is because the follower is all too willing to watch the leader traverse uncharted territories and then offer their commentary on how they would have done it if it was them. The only problem with that is it is NEVER them.
