THE CHURCH AT EPHESUS

As i was studying Revelation the Lord showed me how truly righteous and holy he is.  i learned a lot from the Church at Ephesus. The Church at Ephesus, AD 33-100, means permitted or the first church who experienced the liberty of knowing Christ, being free from the law of sin and death, Ephesus was a port city, Ephesus was the spiritual birthplace of the Church, where the Spirit of God dwelt in them through faith in Christ jesus, they were an Apostolic church with a fire for God.  So what happened?

God said in Revelation 2:4, they left their first love, Him. They were were a church seeking Him and doing his will, they stood on the foundation of Christ and were a church of holiness and righteousness. But they let the world creep in and they left God behind. So God told them in Revelation 2:5, if they did not repent and come back to Him, he would remove their candlestick out of His place (the candlesticks represented the seven physical churches of the day and the seven Church ages up to now, both of which Jesus remains in the midst of if they are obedient to Him). God was saying they would be no more if they did not come back to him.  What happened?  Just that.

Ephesus did not heed the warning of God and did not come back to their first love. Their Christianity had become a faithful ritual but not a relationship of love to the Lord.  By the early AD 100's Ephesus had lost its place in prominent church history. Its port by AD 300 was 4-5 miles from the sea as the silt from the Cayster River built up on the coast line. God removed their candlestick from His place. The rebellion and disobedience by the Church in Ephesus paved the way for the rise of Mohamadism there in the later years...

Revelation is an amazingly incredible word from God where Jesus reveals himself to us in mighty ways. In Revelation 2 and 3 alone, God speaks to each of the Church ages that lead up to right now. He speaks a specific greeting to each, a specific description of himself, a specific commendation and a specific condemnation, exactly as needed. He tells them exactly what they are to do if they desire life eternal with him. Then he leaves it up to them, like he leaves it up to us, right now, TODAY.

God is just, faithful and true. God is the same and unchanging, yesterday, today and forever. What he says, he will do. Does this not sound so much like our country now? We have moved so far away from God that we too need to repent and come back to our first love, our God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

CHOOSE THIS DAY WHOM YOU WILL SERVE..AMEN!!

JESUS IS LORD OF ALL
