ONE NATION UNDER GOD?
i live in the United States of America. it is hard to recognize anymore, but it is where i was born. This country was founded by God fearing men who owned and read Bibles, who believed in GOD and in JESUS. They knew of GOD's grace, mercy, forgiveness, provision and blessings. They knew holiness and righteousness from sin and vainglory. But, the heart of this nation has now strayed very far from GOD and His Word, and it has brought with it so much sensless tragedy as a consequence.
The freedom we sing about in our national songs is the freedom GOD sent JESUS to bring us (John 8:36), freedom from sin, from selfish lives, desires and hearts. GOD is the reason this nation was once great and accepts so many tired, poor, huddled masses (Matthew 25:31-46). What made this nation great was GOD, not the pride and fire power to win man made wars and kill each other. Not the ability to accomodate every evil desire of mans heart by calling evil good (Isaiah 5:20) and making a law to protect those sins (Abortion, Gay marriage, fornication, sodomy, etc.). Be assured, it is both personal and national sin, this turning away from GOD that is bringing down this nation, and there is no escaping the judgement of GOD. This nation is rapidly falling before a holy and righteous GOD who's judgement is right and true.
Do we really think for one moment if we immigrated to another country they would bend over backward to accomodate our ways? No, we would be expected to live and conform to their ways. So why Why has America turned their back on GOD and His ways, at the eternal expense of their souls? Why are we so blind? If this was truly GOD's country, it would look like JESUS, not Sodom, Gomorrah or Babylon. It would be influenced by GOD and His Word, not by the evil ways of sin.
We cannot take sin and death out of the world since the fall of Adam and Eve (Genesis 3), but we can, as a people, make our nation a GOD fearing nation in the eyes of GOD. We can live by his precepts and not mans. There is no prayer GOD does not hear from His children, and there is no prayer of anguish and travail GOD does not hear from the repentant sinner (1 John 1:9). This nations only hope is in GOD. It is in coming to JESUS with a repentant heart and being reconciled unto GOD. i pray the eyes of the blind are opened and this nation cries out as one to GOD.
"If my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. " 2 Chronicles 7:14
i urge all people of GOD to be prepared in their hearts. Make your heart and life right with GOD through JESUS, prepared at any moment to be taken from this life because you never know when senseless tragedy will strike you and your family. Be prepared to be taken or have a loved one taken. Either way, know the LORD JESUS in prayer and in His Word, live for Him each moment, tell as many as you can about Him (Mark 16:15). Be prepared for eternity now.
