ABIDE IN HIM
"Abide in me, and i in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine, no more can ye, except ye abide in me." John 15:4
To abide means to to rest or dwell in, to tarry or stay, to continue permanently, to be firm or immovable. To abide by a bargain , a promise or a friend, or to suffer the consequences.
So how do we abide in the Lord? The best way is to get into the word. We store the word in our hearts for all times and all situations. Gods word is life. It fills our hearts, runns in our veins, it is Jesus, it is God, it is living. "Jesus said unto him, i am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me." John 14:6
No one is getting to eternal life with God except he come to Jesus. NO ONE. Since sin and death entered the world through Adam, it is appointed for all men once to die, then face judgment. No exceptions. We will all die a physical death. But we do not all have to die a spiritual death. Choosing Jesus and living for Him will save you from the coming wrath and an eternity in Hell... Abide in Him. With Him is life, without Him we die.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life and the life was the light of men."
John 1:1-4
The vine is Jesus, and we are to abide in Him. We cannot bear fruit, bring others the salvation message of Jesus, unless we abide in Him. When you come to Jesus something changes in you. There is an urgency, a compassion for the faithless. The faithless are living in sin and the wages of sin is death. Something inside you says that it s not OK for people to go to Hell and face the wrath to come.
We are to shout out a warning to the world of the wrath to come. Jesus the sinless, spotless Lamb of God took our sin, took our beating for us, he shed his blood, he died and death could not hold Him, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God, he rose again, he intercedes on our behalf to the Father in Heaven. He wants us to live. He wants us to spend eternity with Him....amen.
