SALVATION

Ready for a little Bible study?

Salvation=soteria(Greek)=the spiritual and eternal deliverance granted immediately by God to those who accept his conditions of repentance(the moral compunction to think differently) and faith (the moral conviction of the truthfulness of God) in the Lord Jesus, in whom alone it is to be obtained, ("Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" Acts 4:12), and upon confession of Him as Lord, ("That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that god hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" Romans 10:9-10). For this reason the Gospel is the saving instrument, ("Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ" Romans 1:6), "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heardthe word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. Ephesians 1:13). The present experience of God's power to deliver from the bondage of sin, and maintaining peace and harmony, ("Wherefore my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear (the moral dread of being displeasing to God) and trembling" Philippians 2:12). This present experience on the part of believers is virtually equivalent to sanctification, for this purpose, God is able to make them wise, they are not to neglect it, ( "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus" 2 Timothy 3:15, "How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him" Hebrews 2:3. )

and...

Sanctification=hagiasmos(Greek)=separation unto God, ("But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption" 1 Corinthians 1:30; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Peter 1:2). The course of life befitting those so separated, ( 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4,7; Romans 6:1; "But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the everlasting life" Romans 6:22; 1 Timothy 2:15; Hebrews 12:14). Sanctification is that relationship with God into which men enter by faith in Christ, ( "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me"Acts 26:18; 1 Corinthians 6:11), and to which their sole title is the death of Christ, (Ephesians 5:25-26, Colossians 1:22, Hebrews 10:10, 29, Hebrews 13:12). Separation of the believer from evil things and ways. This sanctification is God's will for the believer, 1 Thessalonians 4:3, and His purpose in calling him by the Gospel, 1 Thessalonians 4:7, it must be learned from God, v4, as He teaches it by His Word, John 17:17, 19, Psalm 17:4, Psalm 119:9-11 and it must be pursued by the believer earnestly and undeviatingly, 1 Timothy 2:15, Hebrews 12:14. For the holy character, hagiosune, 1Thessalonians 3:13, cannot be transferred or imputed, (like from Grandma or Mom) it is an individual possession, built up, little by little, as the result of obedience to the Word of God, and of following the example of Christ, Matthew 11:29, John 13:15, Ephesians 4:20, Philippians 2:5, in the power of the Holy Ghost, Romans 8:13, Ephesians 3:16, Acts 1:8...

All scripture in red is Jesus speaking. Does not the reading of the Word of God and the beginning of understanding just make you want more? We cannot live without it. i left some references for you to look up. God bless you and may the Holy Ghost do a work in you as you seek His face in the word.

Once we are saved and sanctified in Christ, we become His, his friends, family, servants, followers. Separated from the world and the prince of the world, Satan. Separated from the sin nature but still prone to falling if we do not pray and get into Gods word and seek Him. We are the Lord's for eternity. We have the victory that overcomes. If you truly read every scripture reference i have provided, you begin to see that God wants us to follow Jesus. Growing steadily and truly in him it becomes a joy to serve Him, to go and make disciples of all nations, to provide for the needy, to seek and to save that which was lost. Amen.

If you do not know Jesus cry out to Him right now where you are and give your life to Him. Cry in Godly sorry for sinning against Him and Him alone (2 Corinthians 7:9-10). Confess your sins and believe on Jesus and all He did for you at the cross. Come to the living water and never thirst again (John 4:10). Amen..

If you have any questions about Jesus or His saving cross, call me 707.292.4506 anytime...God bless you, i am praying for you. Amen.
