DESIRES OF THE HEART

"Delight thyself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart" Psalm 37:4

"Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved."
Romans 10:1

"Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked, further not his wicked device, lest they exalt themselves, Selah." Psalm 140:8

Like God's, is our hearts desire the souls of all the lost? Our families, friends, cities, nations. Do we weep for them, have compassion (Matthew 9:35-37) for them? Do we live each day in this desire? What does it look like? Well, what do we do in a typical day? When we prioritize our thought life, our time, our finances, our to do list, our lifestyle, what is most valuable to us? The world would have it be things, anxiety, "be happy" in worldly pleasures. A roller coaster of emotion that is not of God.

The flesh will desire things, stuff, notoriety, popularity, align itself with the world...flesh wants to be recognized, lifted up, patted on the back, catered to in this lifetime. The flesh man wants to satisfy the desires of his own mind.

The spirit man desires the flesh to decrease and Christ in him to increase, wants to be in the book of life, wants to know how to lay down his life, thinks on things eternal and desires to put on the mind of Christ. Amen...

Our hearts desire is where we will invest most of our time. It will show in our life. Are we in the Word, in prayer, praising and worshiping Him and telling people wherever we are about Jesus daily? Do we tell them? That is what i want in my life. All God, all the time, 24/7, Psalm 113:3, praising and telling them about Jesus. Delighting inwardly in Him, by prayer and being in the Word. Knowing Him better than anything or anyone in our lives. Putting Him first always in all things..our thoughts, words, activities, finances, relationships, all our time. And telling everyone i meet about him. Am i there? No, but i know him and where i should be and i strive for it in Christ Jesus. Having an ambition to know nothing else but Christ and to do His will. Casting off ALL distractions, diligently seeking Him daily, dying to self and humbling myself before him. When i rise and lay down, sit and walk, come and go. Amen.

"It is a faithful saying, For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with Him." 2 Timothy 2:11

"I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless i live, yet not i, but Christ liveth in me, and the life which i now live in the flesh i live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20

He said it, i believe it. Being in Him, Him in us, reaching for the goal of telling everyone about Him, that all men should be reconciled to him. Isn't that what the ministry of reconciliation is all about? Shouldn't all we do flow from this through the cross? We are His, there are no other options, no choices, He has settled it, he has made our choices, and we follow Him. Obediently. This takes up all our time. For this we have laid down our lives. Amen...

"And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation." 2 Corinthians 5:18
