DO YOU KNOW?

"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." James 4:17

"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." John 17:3

Do we know? Are we sure? Are we eternal minded? Because if we do not know him, He will not know us. If he does not know us, when we die, our eternity will be spent apart from God.

"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
Matthew 7:22-23

"Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. Matthew 25:1-13

Will we be wise unto eternity, or foolish unto eternal damnation? Do we really think we can put God off, wait til the last minute, not getting to know him and not suffer the consequences? When he comes it will be a shock to most...they will not be prepared and the consequences will be dire.

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no not the angels of heaven but my father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark. And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away. So shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matthew 24:36-39

There is also a passage in Luke (Luke 17:26-30) that says as the days of Noah and Lot, so shall it be in the days of the Son of man. Being unprepared did not just happen once, and God is warning us again about the day of the Lord, that it will be the same deal..people will not be prepared. What does it take to wake people up to the eternal state and future of their souls?

Do we truly know that we are in the last days? Do we know the consequences of living a life fulfilling the desires of the flesh? (John 3:19) If we are in the word of God, we can know God and what God says.

"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire" Revelation 20:15

This world is truly not our home, and as long as we make it our home, as long as we are comfortable in it, we are lost. (1 John 2:15-16)

"They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world." John 17:16

Seek and know God while there is still time.

"Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy, break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you." Hosea 10:12

"Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near." Isaiah 55:6

Seek Him, desperately pursue him, strive and fight to find and know Him.....before the tribulation...before it is too late.. Amen
