THUS SAITH THE LORD
Doesn't it just make ya want to shout for joy when you see the words, "Thus saith the Lord" or "As it is written"? Man o man i just want to sit up and take notice and take notes! This is God speaking to us. How exciting is that? What could be better than that? Amen.
In Romans, the book Paul wrote to the Romans, to show them the essential elements of Christian faith, we find we still need them today.
Last night i was at work and i realized i was pretty good at my job and i will just get better the more i learn and grow in the position. i was led to two passages in Romans as i was thinking and praying as i sat there and did my job.
"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable, there is none that doeth good, no, not one." Romans 3:10-12
And a few verses down it says:
"There is no fear of God before their eyes." Romans 3:18
i realized again that the Lord was telling me i am nothing but who i am in Him. i am not righteous apart from Jesus, and nothing i do is good apart from Jesus. As i become more and more the obedient and willing bond servant of Christ, all i do is in Him, for him, through him. As i empty out my "self", deny my self daily and take up the cross, it truly becomes Jesus who dwells in me and i in Him(Galatians 2:20). i am led absolutely by the Holy Ghost he left to guide me to all truth. God has taken care of everything. He is taking me through the refiners fire, burning off the dross, showing me who i am in him. Who i am. Malachi 3:1-3 speaks of John the Baptist coming to prepare the way for Jesus who shall come suddenly to His temple. the temple is us folks, we are the temple of the Lord. Are we housing the Lord of Lord, and King of Kings. Are we humbling ourselves before Him(Matthew 23:12; James 4:6 and 4:10; 1 Peter 5:5...etc) Do we truly fear Him. Do we truly have the gut wrenching, deep gripping, moral dread of being displeasing to Him? Because if this quickly fleeting life we live is not all about our God, then we are missing it.
i do not mean burning ourselves out trying to do it all, making every outreach and scurrying about here and there. Filling up each moment with something to the neglect of Him. i am talking about true doulos servanthood. Making every moment a moment lived for God. fervently seeking Him(Hebrews 11:6) in the word and in prayer, seeking "to save that which was lost"(Luke 19:10), feeding the hungry and clothing the naked (Matthew 25:31-46). Making the best use of the time allotted to us by God until He comes. Right where we are in the circumstances we are in, with the resources God gave us. If we have a job, do it as for the Lord. If not then praise God, more time for the Word, prayer and ministry. Wherever we are be with Jesus in all things. Do not let the devil or our own bad selves make us feel guilty about anything, make your life all joy in the Lord. Seek him diligently and fervently and always. When trials come, when the sea is rough, say So What, and keep your eye on Jesus, on Eternity and press on. Amen.
Truly this life is a vapour (James 4:14), and in an eye-blink we will be with Jesus in eternal heaven or with the devil in eternal damnation. Do not be fooled, do not neglect daily Bible study and prayer, daily seeking Him, for the doing of the work. MAKE THE TIME. The doing without Jesus is filthy rags (James 2:20; Isaiah 64:6) and an abomination to Him. Amen...
GET INTO GODS WORD AND GODS WORD WILL GET INTO YOU.....AMEN
